Spice up your Friday night with an evening of mouthwatering food, with the Queen of Curries, Madhur Jaffrey.

Madhur has made a career of educating aspiring cooks in the art of Indian food. To mark the India-UAE Cultural Celebrations: a cultural partnership for a positive future, she will take us on a journey to trace the influence of Indian cookery. Hear about culinary adventures around the world, tales of her exciting life as actress and author, and even some of her prized cooking secrets to making curry easy!

Join us for themed entertainment and a delicious four course meal based on recipes from Madhur’s books.

Madhur will be in conversation with Riz Khan.

Dress code: smart casual

Does the food on our plate have its own story to tell? Our panel discusses the historical and cultural significance of national dishes, the forces that cause different cuisines to evolve, and the impact of globalisation on our tastes.

Madhur Jaffrey is a world authority on Indian food, and through books such as Curry Easy has introduced aspiring cooks to the varied cuisines of India.

Mark Kurlansky is the author of Cod and Salt, books that show how food shaped global trade and human history, and International Night, a collection of international recipes he and his daughter cooked together.

Claudia Roden approaches the food of the Middle East and Mediterranean as an anthropologist: her recent book The Food of Spain explores the history and culture of the regional cuisines featured.
