Mouhannad Alakous
Mohannad Alakous is a Syrian author and poet currently residing in Oman. Alakous began his career in children's literature in 2011 when he published his first collection of stories in the magazine Al Arabi Al-Saghir. His story, Are you Ziz?, won the Kitabi Award by the Arab Thought Foundation in 2015. He has published numerous short stories, poems, plays, and novels including When the Lions Laugh, which was based on his teaching experience at the Institute of visually impaired students in Damascus. His play Orphan of the Jungle won the first prize of the Arab Theatre Authority Institute.
