Julnar Haju
Julnar Haju is a Syrian children’s author, illustrator and publisher. She began her career in the children’s literary field in 2004 and since then has published more than 20 books for children. She won the Anna Lindh Foundation prize 2009 in Damascus for her story, When I am Mad, When I am Sad, for best text. Her story My Ego and I Heavy Weight won the Sharjah Children’s Book Award 2013 for best book in the 6-8 years category. Julnar also won the Etisalat Children’s Book Award in 2015, for best illustration for her book Noor Escapes from the Story. Her books were translated to many languages including English, Spanish, French, Turkish, Croatian, and Dutch.
