Fadel AlMheiri was born in 1979 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. His passion for film began in an early chapter of his life. Built in February 1993 in the city of Abu Dhabi, a small tent outside the childhood home of Fadel becomes the birthplace of a humble beginning to achieve a simple dream: making films. Years later, with basic equipment and flaming passionate, the group emerged to produce six short films and won multiple awards in national film competitions. Fadel established Tent Pictures Productions at TwoFour54, an independent film production company assembled from creative film enthusiasts with a common goal of producing feature length films. He published his first novel book, Kingdom of Peacocks, with a US publishing house and it tells a historical narrative account of an Arabian pirate during the Portuguese invasion of the Arabian Gulf in the early 1500’s. He is currently working to direct the much anticipated animation feature film, Catsaway. Taking place in the late 90's, it tells the story of a group of street cats who are forced to leave their safe shelter in the fast-growing city of Abu Dhabi in a hair-raising, paw-curling adventure to find a new home. One day Fadel was researching the buildings around the location of the famous 'Volcano Fountain’ that once existed on the Corniche, taking pictures of the area around it, observing the parameters and buildings that still stand from that period as reference for the animation film. Fadel started to superimpose photos he had on the new location by blending the buildings in the photo, ending up with a huge collection of historical and nostalgia-evoking photos that are worth documenting and sharing.
