Captain Dr Abdulla Bin Ahmad AlShaikh is the Head of the Diplomatic and Consular Affairs at Dubai Police. Dr AlShaikh simultaneously serves as the President of the Dubai Youth Council for the Federal Youth Authority. He is also the Head of Scholar’s Council for Dubai Police wherein he is actively engaged in establishing and implementing initiatives to promote learning and knowledge and connecting more than 250 scholars and institutions under a single platform. Dr AlShaikh is a member of both the executive and recruiting committees at Dubai Police and serves on several additional federal and local committees that aim to enrich the social fabric of the UAE. Dr AlShaikh is the founder of the pioneering Victims Support Section in Dubai Police which provides humanitarian, emotional and social care to victims. He is the former President of the Global Youth Council (United Kingdom Chapter) and is an active volunteer and contributor to the local and international community.
Dr AlShaikh holds a PhD in Diplomacy and International Security from Glasgow Caledonian University London and Master’s in International Communication and Diplomacy from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. Additionally, in 2019, he earned certificates from Oxford University in Psychology for Leadership and in the Global Health Diplomacy. He has published several academic articles and his forthcoming book, entitled: Securitisation Theory in the UAE Context: Regional Instability and Shifting Security Dynamics, set to be published by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) is due in early 2022.
