Born in Riyadh, Sami Al Batati graduated from the College of Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals with honours and received the Reader of the Year Award 2017 in the Iqraa competition organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra). Al Batati is the Founder and presenter of the Youtube channel Shadow of a Book, which has more than 370,000 subscribers, and published more than 160 critical reviews of various books and novels, in addition to coverage of Arab and international book fairs. He is one of the first content creators in the field of books on the YouTube platform and participated in many cultural seminars.
