Chip Rossetti is a translator of Arabic literature and has worked in book publishing for over 20 years. He is the Editorial Director of the Library of Arabic Literature book series at NYU Abu Dhabi. His translations include short story collection Animals in Our Days by Mohamed Makhzangi; No Windmills in Basra, award-winning flash fiction by Iraqi writer Diaa Jubaili; Beirut, Beirut by Sonallah Ibrahim; Utopia by Ahmed Khaled Towfik; and the graphic novel Metro: A Story of Cairo by Magdy El Shafee. He holds a Ph.D. in modern Arabic literature from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently working on an edition and translation of a text about the wonders of the world by the 12th-century Andalusi traveler and scholar Abu Hamid al-Gharnati.
