Kathy Urban

Kathy Urban is a multilingual journalist who has been reporting on news, entertainment and environmental stories for over a decade. She freelanced for British and international news networks, including Thomson Reuters, ITN, BBC Current Affairs, ARN and completed news assignments for German TV including ZDF, RTL and the Austrian Broadcasting Cooperation (ORF). An avid reader, Kathy grew up admiring the works of great storytellers and the imaginary worlds they created. But it was listening to the stories her dad would tell her that prompted Kathy to make up stories for her own children.

Her first picture book, Hop Lola Hop, illustrated by Siski Kalla was published in 2022. It was inspired by her eldest daughter’s favourite toy bunny, which they lost many, many times - during trips to the supermarket, walks in the park and even on a desert camel ride.

Hop Lola Hop - A Yummy Market Day Adventure, the follow up in the series, will be published in March 2023. A world nomad, Kathy has lived in the UK, the US, Denmark, Germany and she now calls Dubai her home.
