Yasmina Jraissati has a PhD in Philosophy and Cognitive Sciences and established RAYA, the agency for Arabic literature in 2004, the first, and to date, only agency of its kind. Since then, RAYA has been promoting, selling, and managing translation and adaptation rights of high-quality Arabic literature throughout the world.
In 2019 and 2020, Jraissati was a finalist to the London Book Fair International Excellence Award, in the literary agents category. Passionate about knowledge dissemination and the use of technology, she co-created Mubtada Wa Khabar, a crowd-sourced web-based platform that uses international standards of book metadata. She believes that the opacity of the Arabic book market partly results from poorly structured information on the web.
Since 2020, Jraissati has been part of Storytel, the Sweden based audio content streaming platform, as a publishing manager for the MENA region.
