Hannah Gold grew up in a family where books, animals, and the beauty of the outside world were ever present and is now passionate about writing stories that share her love of the planet. Her middle grade debut novel, The Last Bear is the winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award. It was also shortlisted for the Indie Book Awards, the British Book Awards as well as being nominated for the Carnegie Medal and many other regional and school awards both in the UK and abroad. It has been translated into over 20 languages. Her recent middle grade novel, The Lost Whale tells an incredible story about the connection between a boy and a whale and the bond that sets them both free. Both novels are illustrated by renowned artist Levi Pinfold. Gold lives in the UK with her tortoise, her cat and her husband.
