Ismat Mahmassani was born in Beirut and raised in Riyadh and Paris. She received a bachelor’s degree in Law and Development Studies from SOAS in London. After settling in London for 12 years before moving to Dubai in 2005. A mother to four children, now based in Beirut, she spends her time as a passionate photographer, author, and philanthropist. Her book Letters from the Sky is a compilation of verses sent through the Holy Quran to inspire themes of trust, gratitude, patience, and healing. The book was inspired by Mahmassani’s journey – a journey which compelled her to share the everyday guidance these divine words can bring to everyone from all walks of life, religions, and nationalities.
