Crime fiction is one of the most popular genres in the world. Many writers have found in crime the raw material for genuinely creative and psychologically rich literature. In this session our panel of top crime writers we will discuss the key components of a successful crime novel. They will investigate how to keep readers gripped by the unfolding mystery and how to use real crime as inspiration for the motives and secrets of the characters.

Ibrahim Al Marzouqi is a scriptwriter, filmmaker and crime fiction writer whose novel ''Valium'' won second place in the 2017 Emirates Novel Award. He recently published a new crime novel, “Euthanasia”.

Abdulwahab Alsayed Al-Rifaee is considered one of the first novelists in the Gulf to write science fiction and crime fiction.

Adel Alsumaiti is a crime fiction writer and author of ''Revenge of the Legend''.
