Join our authors as they debate the age-old question: fact or fiction?
On Team FACT we have Professor of Biology and author of Human Errors, Dr. Nathan H. Lents who has spent over 20 years researching and writing about genetics, molecular biology, and forensic science. He is joined by journalist Vince Beiser who has exposed conditions in California’s harshest prisons, ridden with the first responders to disasters in Haiti and Nepal and more, and is the author of The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization.
On Team FICTION we have Kuwaiti journalist and writer Taleb Alrefai, who has been a lecturer of creative writing at American University of Kuwait since 2013. He was the Chairman of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2009 and his novel Al Najdi was longlisted for the IPAF in 2018. Joining him is Kate Young, author of The Little Library Cookbook - a collection of recipes inspired by beloved works of fiction, from the treacle tart in Harry Potter to the clam chowder of Moby Dick.
This session is free to attend but requires a ticket.
