‘At the end of the day, whether one returns to the past or travels to the future, the present doesn't change.’ – Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Toshikazu Kawaguchi received international acclaim for his award-winning play-turned-novel, Before the Coffee Gets Cold. The story intertwines four people desperate for a second chance at a conversation. A windowless basement café in a back alley amidst Tokyo’s urban maze grants them the opportunity to time-travel but not without a warning to return to the present before the coffee gets cold.
Join Kawaguchi as he shares what he would change and who he would want to meet if he could travel back in time.
Simultaneous Translation is available for this session. Festival attendees can access simultaneous translation via a QR code shared on-site by using their own personal headphones and smartphone.
