Date/Time: Friday 4 February 2022 19:00-20:00

Venue: Al Habtoor Ballroom, Habtoor Palace, Al Habtoor City

Language: English

Session No: 15

The delicate art of putting difficult feelings into words unites our otherwise very different panellists, each of whom has sought to use their own experiences to help others.

The panel will share their stories and discuss the ways they capture the complexities of sometimes overwhelming emotion and shape them into works that will comfort and inspire readers.

David Grossman is an Israeli novelist and peace activist, who won the International Booker Prize for A Horse Walks into a Bar (2014). His books have been translated into more than 30 languages.

Jessica Moxham is the author of The Cracks That Let the Light In, about the lessons she has learned from caring for her disabled son and defending his rights.

Sasha Bates is the author of Languages of Loss and A Grief Companion. A psychotherapist by training, after confronting the loss of her husband, she began to write books that help others deal with their own loss and grief.

David Grossman will be appearing virtually.
