We have access to a greater variety of food and cuisines than ever before. At the same time, our food systems place immense pressure on the planet, and across the globe are people without access to safe and affordable food. These challenges are only exacerbated by climate change, conflict and crises such as the global pandemic.
Join HE Mariam Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and celebrity chef Bobby Chinn to discuss the vital issue of food security and sustainability. HE Mariam Almheiri has led on food security policies in the UAE and advocated for urgent action to transform the global food system, while Bobby Chinn has spoken about the climate crisis, and why we must move towards more local, sustainable and plant-based food options, as well as how to reduce food waste. In this informative and inspiring session, they will talk about global, regional and UAE specific initiatives, both from a public policy point of view and also at an individual level, exploring what we can do to change our own relationship to how we grow, buy and cook our food.
