If you enjoy science fiction in books, TV and film, join Noura  Al Noman, author of prize-winning YA novel Ajwan  and the first Arab science fiction series, along with award-winning Emirati writer and director Nujoom Al Ghanem and Sara  Galadari, author of Amazon-bestselling science fiction, discuss their experiences of writing in a new and different literary medium as they transformed their books  into a cinematic or televised work.

Noura Al Noman is an Emirati science fiction writer and novelist, Her first novel, Ajwan, was published in 2012 and won the 2013 Etisalat Children’s Book Award in the category of Best Young Adult Book. She published a sequel, Mandan, in 2014. The Ajwan series was adapted into an Arabic sci-fi animation series, the first of its kind, released on Shahid in 2022.

Nujoom Al Ghanem is a multi-award-winning Emirati poet, artist and filmmaker. She was awarded the Pride of the UAE Medal through the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award in 2018. She also won the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence, in addition to several honours for her cinematic achievements.

Sarah Galadari is an Emirati science fiction writer who published The Elemental in 2021.
