A good literary agent can launch your literary career like nothing else. But there are only so many agents, and a lot of aspiring writers out there. So how do you sell yourself to the person who will sell your work?
Felicity Blunt is a top-tier agent at a top-tier agency, representing authors such as Bonnie Garmus, Abi Dare and Claire Keegan at Curtis Brown alongside a growing list of debut authors. In this masterclass she will outline what she and other agents look for in an author – from your initial query, pitch and covering letter – and explain how you can make that crucial first impression and stand out from the crowd.
The tutor: Felicity Blunt first trained as a barrister before interning at both the Wylie Agency and Curtis Brown. She joined Curtis Brown in 2005 and has worked for the company ever since, from both London and New York, working with bestselling authors such as Jennifer Egan, Ann Patchett, Gytha Lodge, Gillian McAllister and Tammy Cohen, debut authors such as NYT bestsellers Abi Daré and Bonnie Garmus, and non-fiction writers including Anna Jones and Samin Nosrat.
This session is moderated by Allison K Williams
