How do our minds shape the world? It’s an old question, but one that we are increasingly able to answer as researchers explore the mysteries of consciousness and the relationship between this surprising inner world and the physical realm we share. Join our two experts for a fascinating discussion on the far-reaching implications of the study of the mind.
Anil Seth, Professor of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience at the University of Sussex, is on a mission to advance the science of consciousness. His book Being You: A New Science of Consciousness makes accessible his cutting-edge academic work and explains his new theory of consciousness and self.
Jo Marchant is an award-winning journalist, author and speaker whose books explore the nature of humanity and our universe. Cure: A Journey into the Science of Mind over Body was shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Books Prize, while The Human Cosmos: Civilisation and the Stars was regarded the best book of 2020 by outlets including The Economist, Smithsonian and Wired.
