Jalal Bargas, winner of the 2021 International Prize for Arabic Fiction, returns with a new novel, The Dudok’s Whimper. The cries of the Armenian oboe are followed by its sweet voice and reflecting on the space between the two sounds brought inspiration to Bargas’s writing.
In this session, he discusses the reasons that drive him to read and write, and his ideologies, as well as the emotions that guide him through the stages of incorporating carefully chosen words into his work.
You will be granted access to Jalal Bargas’ private library: a room filled with drafts and books awaits you for an elegant and enlightening discussion !
