Writing a biography is a monumental task in which the author writes and wanders through the leaps of a life, leaving their own imprint.
Dr Rafia Ghubash brilliantly wrote and documented the lives of her grandfather, her mother and then her brother, Hussein Ghobash, until her work became a reference for scholars and researchers.
Dr Rafia Ghubash is the first Emirati psychiatrist and Founder of the Women’s Museum. She has had many research studies published in Arab and international periodicals. She has written a number of biographical books, including A Woman Ahead of Her Time, Encyclopedia of Emirati Women, He Returned After His Departure: The Thinker Dr Hussein Ghobash, Historical Papers from the Life of the Poet Hussain Bin Nasser Al Lootah, and she has won a number of awards, including the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences. Dr Ghubash was also ranked among the ‘Greatest Giving Women’ in 2011.
