Are you working on a translation from either Urdu or Hindi to English and looking for expert guidance? Then this is the workshop you’ve been waiting for. Award-winning translator Daisy Rockwell will review a section of your manuscript ahead of the session, and then explore translation in relation to each participants’ own work at the workshop itself.
Send in a 1000-word sample of your translated manuscript along with a synopsis by 20 January 2023 to namal.siddiqui@emirateslitfest.com for Daisy to review.
Daisy Rockwell is a painter and translator of Hindi and Urdu literature. Her translation of Geentanjali Shree’s Tomb of Sand won an International Booker Prize Award. She paints under the alias Lapata (missing in Urdu).
As you plan your day at the Festival, please take into consideration that it takes between 30-60 mins to commute between the Intercontinental, Festival City and Mohammed Bin Rashid Library.
