Martin Kiszko: What’s the Score?
Date/Time: Saturday 4 February 2023 10:00-11:00
Session No: 266
Martin Kiszko has composed more than 200 scores for film and television, many of them for nature documentaries produced by the BBC’s Natural History Unit. What does it take to create music that is integral to a series – music that fits seamlessly into the overall production while still being original and memorable?
Accompanied by excerpts from his work, played live on the piano , Martin will share his insights from decades of composition that have included working with Europe’s greatest orchestras, innovating in the use of indigenous instruments on TV, and developing a second career as the UK’s ‘Green Poet’, writing and publishing the world’s first epic eco-poem, King Frank & the Knights of the Ecoquest.
