Join ‘Comedy Women in Print' winner and author of Tinker Tailor Schoolmum Spy Faye Brann gets serious about being funny in this masterclass on witty writing. Brann will share what makes a ‘funny’ book, the perils of writing and publishing comedy and how to create comedy through characterisation, action and plot while not falling into superficial stereotyping and mockery.
Faye Brann is a writer of stories about and for women – books you can read in bed, on a beach or on the train that will (hopefully!) make you smile, or even snort into your sandwich a little. Brann embraces her twin loves of writing and performing, gaining an MA in Writing from Falmouth University and performing and teaching comedy improvisation at the Courtyard Playhouse in Al Quoz. She won the 2020 Comedy Women in Print Award for her debut novel Tinker, Tailor, Schoolmum, Spy, published in 2021.
