Nicola Green, author of Encounters: The Art of Interfaith Dialogue and Saeb Eigner, author of Art of the Middle East: Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World and Iran, have both explored contemporary art, interfaith intersections of power and the potential of bridging cultural and religious divides. Join them as they discuss their respective works and delve into how they use art as a lens to explore the nuances of various socio-cultural phenomena happening in the world at large
Nicola Green is a critically acclaimed artist and social historian. She has established an international reputation for her ambitious and insightful projects that challenge prevailing narratives of identity, power, leadership, race and gender. Green gained global recognition for her seminal project In Seven Days.... which resulted from her unprecedented artistic access to Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign. She co-founded and directed the Diaspora Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale, showcasing 22 artists from culturally diverse backgrounds. She is the author of Encounters: The Art of Interfaith Dialogue.
Saeb Eigner is the former Senior Manager at ANZ Grindlays Bank PLC and headed the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Division of the Private Bank, which he left and went on to find his own private investment company. Eigner holds a master's degree in Management from London Business School. He is a former Governor of London Business School, Chairman of its Audit and Risk Committees and member of its Estate Committee. He is the co-author of the management books Sand to Silicon, Sand to Silicon - Going Global, and author of Art of the Middle East.
