The Orphalese army imprisons exiled political activist and poet Mustafa and sentences him to death by the firing squad unless he admits that his writings are subversive. He sets a plan to leave, but before he finally leaves for his home country, the people of Orphalese gather to bid him farewell, and ask for his guidance on important aspects of life and the human condition.

The Prophet is an award-winning animated adaptation of the 1923 book of the same name by celebrated writer Gibran Kahlil Gibran. The event will feature a special recorded video message from Salma Hayek, one of the producers of the film.

This screening of The Prophet will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with producers Clark Peterson and Haytham Nasr, and director Roger Allers who will discuss the production of the film and how they brought  Gibran’s magnum opus to life through animation.
