Session No: 6

Why do we find psychological thrillers so compelling? Our panel explores the challenges and constraints of the genre and how far it can really be pushed to explore human nature, with readings from their own work.

In Montegrappa Writing Prize winner Jessica Jarlvi’s latest book What Did I Do? protagonist Kristin fears she wants to know if she could be a killer and not remember her actions. And fellow Montegrappa Prize winner Karen Osman’s latest, The Home, portrays a successful career woman with a troubled past and asks unsettling questions about justice, revenge and our capacity for forgiveness.

When a tragedy befalls a group of NRI women living in Dubai in Divyata Rajaram’s book If You Only Knew Me, they find themselves struggling to make sense of the madness and deception surrounding them.
