Who did not watch the classic children’s programmes of the seventies, eighties and nineties? Children’s television walks a fine line of entertaining children while also educating them and encouraging positive behaviour.
Our speakers will discuss the influence – positive and negative – that TV can exert on children’s development and the forces that shape the kind of programmes that are aired.
Ahlam Bsharat is an award-winning author of poetry, picture books, short stories, novels, TV and radio scripts. She has published more than 15 novels.
Rania Zbib Daher is an award-winning YA and children’s author, and former TV director and producer. She has published more than 40 children’s books.
Amna Al Mansouri is an Emirati author who has written screenplays for the cartoon series Freej and Freej Folklore.
