Two writers, two different mysteries, both rooted in gripping past events.
Rehan Khan is the author of A Tudor Turk, the first of The Chronicles of Will Ryde & Awa Maryam Al-Jameel. Described as “Mission Impossible set during the 16th Century”, it features an unlikely duo: Songhai warrior girl Awa and enslaved English boy Will. Together they must face scheming adversaries as they pursue a prized relic from the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul to the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Rehan is joined by Daniela Tully, author of Hotel on Shadow Lake. Inspired by a letter that her grandmother received from her twin brother after the fall of the Berlin Wall, 46 years after he sent it, this debut novel takes place between 1938 Munich and 2017 upstate New York, and unravels the story of a mysterious disappearance and dark family secrets. Come and hear what these two writers have to say about researching and writing gripping historical fiction.
