A session featuring the father of Emirati poets, Ahmed Eisa Al Asam, with artist, poet, and director Nujoom Al Ghanem, Hassan Al Najjar, Maryam AlZarouni and Najat Al Dhaheri.
Their voices will rise with deep and sweet poetic melody in this captivating session, as we listen to the playing of the oud to complete the magic of the evening.
Ahmed Eisa Al-Asam is an Emirati poet and author of poetry collection Amina, released in 2022. He is a member and former Vice President of the Emirates Writers Union. He was Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Emirates Writers Union - Ras Al Khaimah Branch from 2000 to 2018 and Vice Chairman of the Membership Committee from 2013 to 2016.
Maryam Al Zarooni is an Emirati poet, writer, visual artist and sculptor. Her novel A Letter to Harvard for young people won the Al Owais Creativity Prize 2018. She published her book No Longer Important in 2021.
Nujoom Al Ghanem is a multi-award-winning Emirati poet, artist and filmmaker. She was awarded the Pride of the UAE Medal through the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award in 2018. She also won the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence, in addition to several honours for her cinematic achievements.
