This is a session for those who love travel, adventure, and priceless memories – and discovering other people’s journeys through their exceptional prose. Let’s explore travel writing and talk about the awards that are dedicated to celebrating travellers and travel.

Ali Al Saloom is an Emirati cultural and tourism program presenter, whose in-depth awareness of the cultural and religious aspects has contributed to enhancing his holistic view of the cradle and culture of the Gulf region, which we see in every project or idea he adopts. His released the Ask Ali series; Ask Ali: Your Guide to Abu Dhabi and Ask Ali: Your Guide to Dubai, which are travel guides that offer readers insights into the UAE.

Nouri Al Jarrah is a poet and the Editor-in-Chief of London magazine Al-Jadeed. He is the Secretary-General of the Arab Center for Geographic Literature and the Supervisor of the Ibn Battuta Prize for Journey Literature. He has published many poetry collections including No War in Troy and The Stone Serpent.

Salha Obeid is an Emirati writer who has written several short story collections as well as the novel Maybe It’s a Joke. Her most recent book, The Circle of Spices was released in 2022. She is also the Emirates Copyright Management Association’s treasurer.
