Myrna Ayad

VectorMyrna Ayad established her namesake consultancy in 2018, focusing on art advisory and cultural strategy and is recognised as one of the Middle East’s leading cultural commentators. Her clients include Pepsico, the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, Bulgari, Bain, Pelham Communications, Riyadh’s Misk Art Institute and Assouline, with whom Ayad published Sheikh Zayed: An Eternal Legacy, focused on the late Ruler of the Emirates; as well as Dubai Wonder as part of the House’s travel series. Ayad is author of The National’s monthly series, Remembering the Artist, an intimate portrayal of the lives of pioneering modernists from the region based on exclusive interviews with their relatives, friends or students. From 2016-18, Ayad was Director of Art Dubai, the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia’s foremost international art fair. Preceding this, she wrote on regional art for The New York Times, CNN Online, The Art Newspaper, Artforum, Artsy, Artnet, Wallpaper and The National, among others, and contributed to artist monographs and exhibition catalogues. In 2017, she was nominated among the 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen in Forbes and in 2018, ranked among the 50 Most Influential Women in the Arab World in Arabian Business. She lives in Dubai with her husband and two children.
