My Basket (Angelo R. Lacuesta
Angelo “Sarge” R. Lacuesta’s books include five short story collections, two non-fiction books, and a collection of graphic stories. He has participated in many writing residencies, fellowships, festivals and conferences in the Philippines and overseas, and is is the President of the Philippine Centre of PEN International. Lacuesta has won many awards for his writing, among them three National Book Awards, the NVM Gonzalez Award, numerous Palanca Memorial Awards and Philippines Graphic Awards, and the inaugural Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award.
His most recent book is debut novel Joy, a story navigating a Filipino man’s ruminations of memory and identity, loss and love, after a late-night virtual message rekindles relationships abandoned after decades of distance.
